Hope is passive. Hoping means waiting. For a coincidence to happen. For someone who saves me.
Hoping is like playing the lottery. There’s little chance of winning, but it keeps me in a fantasy world that promises me the big win in the future. Hoping keeps suffering in place, because there is always a lottery winner, who I could have been (but was not).
Hoping is a decision to suffer. Solving would be easier than suffering, but requires more work. Solving lets you grow. Suffering kills you slowly. Hoping makes you suffer.
